Pixabay Stock Photos & Clip Art, the Stunning Library of Free Images

Pixabay Stock PhotosIf you are like me, at some point in your busy life you will need a stock photo or clip art for a project you are working on. Perhaps you need a stock photo for a web page you are designing. Maybe you want to include some clip art in a newsletter or brochure. Or it could be as simple as wanting to change your Facebook cover. Sometimes you do not have the time (or skills) for designing art work. Even worse, you may not have a budget for buying an image. What can you do? Never fear for I have the perfect resource for free stock images! Allow me to introduce you to Pixabay Stock Photos & Clip Art, the amazing library of free images.

What is Pixabay

I discovered Pixabay a couple of years ago when I was in a real bind. I needed some stock photos for a work-related project and had no budget. Also, due to employer constraints I needed photos that were copyright free. No money and copyright free, not an easy task to fill. And then I found Pixabay through a lengthy internet search.

Pixabay is an internet community for sharing outstanding public domain images. Membership is free. In fact, everything and every interaction with Pixabay is free! This great image library began in Germany in 2010. Currently, Pixabay contains over 710,000 free stock photos, videos, vectors & art illustrations.

Please watch the short video I created demonstrating Pixabay’s power.

What do you mean by FREE?

Pixabay stock photos & clip art are provided at no cost to the user. Even better, these free images & stock photos are provided under the Creative Commons CC0 public domain license. In other words, you can use these copyright free images for commercial & non-commercial use without attribution (no need to include author/artist credits). You got it! Royalty free images and videos you can use anywhere. In case you need additional convincing, I have listed below Pixabay’s exact words on this matter:

‘All images and videos on Pixabay are released free of copyrights under Creative Commons CC0. You may download, modify, distribute, and use them royalty free for anything you like, even in commercial applications. Attribution is not required.’

Pixabay’s professional staff screen all images prior to admission. Their staff is very thorough and Pixabay’s vetting process is excellent. You will never need to worry about the CC0 nature of any stock image.

Why should I become a Pixabay member?

Pixabay membership provides the user with several powerful features not available to guests. Guests are limited to downloading Small or Medium sized images (lower resolution). Pixabay members can download all size/resolution versions of a stock photo. Membership allows you to upload photos and artwork to Pixabay. Of course, your images will be under the CC0 license. However, you will now have access to some good test marketing data. Pixabay permits, records, and tabulates member reviews of your images. You will be able to see how many times a given image is downloaded. You can even network with other members. All of these options are at no cost to you. And on top of this, you can actually earn some money from your images! Yes, people can download your photos & artwork at no cost. Pixabay allows a member to activate a COFFEE button on their image pages. The idea is that a happy consumer can, at their own choosing, click on the COFFEE button and ‘buy you a cup of coffee’. What this means is that a consumer can donate into your PayPal account an amount they designate. And people will donate money.

In short take time to discover the Amazing Free Library of Pixabay Stock Photos & Clip Art.
