How to Make a Scrumptious Chocolate Pecan Pie   Recently Updated!


Introduction

Here is one of our favorite family pie recipes. With this recipe you will learn how to bake a scrumptious Chocolate Pecan Pie. This simple pie recipe makes a rich chocolatey dessert that will bring your guests back craving for more.

•Required Tools

·Measuring Cup

·Measuring Teaspoon

·Rubber Spatula

·KitchenAid Mixer with Paddle and Bowl

•Ingredients

You will need the following ingredients to make the Chocolate Pecan Pie:

•4 eggs

Sugar 1 Cup

Light Corn Syrup 1 Cup

Vanilla Extract  1 Teaspoon

Butter  ½ Cup, Melted

Hershey’s Special Dark Chocolate Chips  ½ Cup

Chopped Pecans  1 Cup

Unbaked Pastry Shell  1 @ 10 inches

 

•Add the Eggs

Add 4 eggs to the mixing bowl.

•Blend Initial Ingredients

Add the following ingredients into the mixing bowl. Remember to use the mixer’s paddle attachment. Beat the ingredients to a uniform consistency: KithenAid Mixer Setting #4.

·Granulated Sugar  1 Cup

·Light Corn Syrup  1 Cup

·Vanilla Extract  1 Teaspoon

•Add Melted Butter to the Mix

Melt ½ Cup Butter (typically 1 stick butter). Add the melted butter into the mixer and mix the ingredients well.

Note: You may substitute Margarine if you wish.

Add Pecans & Chocolate Chips to the Mix

Add 1 Cup Chopped Pecans to the mixer bowl. Next, add ½ Cup Hershey’s Special Dark Chocolate Chips into the mix. Mix the ingredients well- a #4 Setting on a KitchenAid Mixer will do the trick.

Note: You can substitute Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips based upon your individual tastes.

•Fill the Pie Shell

Pour the ingredients into 1 uncooked Pie Shell. If you choose to use a frozen pre-made pie shell (i.e. Marie Callender’s Frozen Pre-Made Pie Shell), you will want to warm it up to room temperature prior to adding the ingredients.

Bake the Chocolate Pecan Pie

Pre-heat the oven to 350ºF. Place the pie into the oven and bake for 50-55 minutes or until set.

Note: We have found the baking time will vary depending upon the oven. When baking the pie for this post, we used the top oven (smaller top oven) of our electric GE Dual Oven. Our pie took 65 minutes to bake. You will want to check the pie after 50 minutes to see if it has set (no longer jiggles). Remove the pie once it has finished baking.
